Default Wheeling near Bass Lake 23-25th Nov?

Originally posted this in NorCal thread before realizing there was a CenCal...

Hello all. I typically frequent the SoCal threads, but I'll be up near Bass Lake from 22-26 Nov. I'd like to do some wheeling while I'm up there, but I'm not familiar with the area at all. Anyone know of any good spots to wheel up there? Nothing too crazy since I'll probably be wheeling alone. So far I've been told Shuteye Peak is a good one. Also, if anyone is in the area and would like to put a trip together let me know. I always prefer wheeling with at least one other vehicle. Thanks in advance for some ideas.

We have a place up at bass lake so I have run lots of trails that way. Shuteye is a great run and not that hard. We haven't had to much rain up that way so you should be able to get pretty close to top weather permitting. It's about 8500 feet. Miami creek is another good spot but Sierras have lots of good fire roads you can explore. Send me a pm and maybe we can hit the trails together.

I'm about to PM you. I'm still headed up that way tomorrow. I'm down for Saturday.

Alright... I made it up here. I'm thinking of starting at 0900 tomorrow. Have no idea where I'm going just yet though. I need to do some more google searching to find the coordinates or directions to the trail head. If anyone already has that info and feels like saving me some time I'd sure appreciate it.

Let me know if that time works for you guys, or if either of you already know the directions to the start point. I'm at the Worldmark Resort right near bass lake (53134 Road 432, Bass Lake, CA 93604). I think I'm pretty close to the trail head from where I'm at, so let me know if it'd be easier to just meet up here at the resort and maybe we'll just make this the linkup point before heading out.

Well, I couldn't make it all the way to the peak, but I still had a blast and saw some great views. I hit a portion of the trail that was just to deep of snow. Couldn't make it through. Would have taken me hours of digging, and I had already been on the trail for almost two hours at that point, so I decided to just call it. I'll have to come back in the spring time and give it another go.

Yep, sure did. All good though. Ended up being easy fire road for the most part. I got held up by the snow drift and had to turn back before making it to anything too exciting.

The pictures are beautiful. Sorry I couldn't make it out. Where did that fire road start? I'd like to try and go out there sometime
