was wondering like the beefier tubes if we had a larger diameter steel tube and clamped it around the longer side of the frt axel tube would that reinforce more and at the same time it would hide the impact scaringso if it did cract least it hold to get out and there would be no ecidence for dc to use against us

Spoke to him tonight. He is going to pay out of pocket for an axle for now. Probably aftermarket. Also he has the option of rebuilding his. The dealership is quoting ridiculous prices for stuff. (Like $1500 for the housing, no internals and reusing his old stuff.) I have forwarded him quite a few links as I am buying new axles next year and have done a lot of research. He has also sent pictures to a metalurgist and is looking to get the VIN of the guy who had his replaced under warranty (although I forgot to ask how that was going)
Eitherway it is an expensive ordeal. Front axles are the more expensive ones.

The worst part is, and I was 8 feet away when he did it, he really wasnt doing anything crazy, as a matter of fact I did the EXACT same thing, in the EXACT same spot about a month prior, with no damage other than my plastic solenoid box and license plate. Brutal

Obviously his head is elsewhere but I am sure he will pop in for an update.

Hey Guys,

At work now so only have a sec.. As Todd said I am still waiting for the dealer
to hopefully cover this. I know Paul and he is going to bat for me...With Chrysler......We met this morning and went over the Axel together I snapped a few shots from better angles I will try to post these when I get home.
I also spoke with Transport Canada to the lead investigator in Ottawa this afternoon....He will be having a meeting with his Boss tomorrow morning. They will be investigating the matter beginning tomorrow.... they also want the broken parts sent to their lab.. for testing, but they will be in contact with the dealer to get a look at the Jeep....while it is up on the hoist

And no one has sent me their Vin#s yet so that is holding up the process

So we will see..fingers crossed
Thanks For the support..

Zeb

That's a great idea. This needs to be in the modified section so more people will see it.

The axle tube almost looks like it's cast, not steel tubing.
