Default crossing the border and duty

anybody know what we are obligated to pay if we purchase something the US and drive it back here? Is it a percentage of the value?

I can't seem to find it

Duty = GST and PST that's it. So in Alberta if we bring stuff across we just pay 7% since we don't have PST.

wow...the full 14% that sucks.

I wish I could hide it, but don't think that will be an option for what I'm considering

GST is now only 5%.....in BC we can add on 7% PST on to that.

Remember for the trip in Oct we are there for more than 48 hours, you are allowed $700 in goods and a carton of smokes and a 60 for Steve. I wont be bringing much back I can declare for someone if they go over

Yeah, I'd kinda like to get it installed before the trip.

Thinking of a lift, and under armor....have everything all picked out I just need to pull the trigger.
