Dealer Reviews
Thought it would be a good idea to start a thread reviewing the dealers we have dealt with.
My Dealer:
Boulevard Chrysler -Montreal
http://boulevard.fivestardealers.ca/index.htm
I bought my 2008 Sahara unlimited a little over a month ago and my dealer experience has been mixed. There is a lot more back story to my experience that I'm not going to get in to as the overall review will be a few pages (involves the dealer attempting to help me sell my previous car).
Long story short, if I had to do this over again I would not buy from this dealer.
Sales: Completely useless, never called back when they say they would (maybe it was my sales rep?) and was not familiar with the available options for the Wrangler.
Failed to mention that the 3.21 to 3.73 axle ratio upgrade with the tow package would not be applied since this option is installed at the factory,
Forgot to provide the DVN (Description du Vehicle Neuf) papers after picking up the vehicle, required document when picking up the license plate.
Service department: Much better experience, they actually call you back and will work with you.
Parts dept ordered the wrong uConnect kit, I caught this while doing my own research on the kit and computability with the iPhone (problem with Chrysler's catalogue).
Charged me for the first courtesy car when returning the vehicle to have the remaining options installed. Forgot to setup a courtesy car the second time around (luckily one had just been returned).
Fixed the door rattle and squeaky seat the first time around.
Why did I end up buying from this dealer? They had the model I was looking for, the price was right (I used CarcostCanada.com to understand the available rebates) and the dealer is relatively close to where I live.
Pricing info:
2008 Sahara Unlimited
Limited slip diff
tow package (3.21 geared, package installed at dealer)
dual top group
Jeep Green with Khaki colored tops
negotiated price $27,500 before tax
Free locking gas cap
uConnect, paid cost for the unit, installed free

Tow Package with 3.21? huh
They sent the Sahara's out with 3.21's.. I thought the 3.73 gears in the Sahar was standard...
If they are not upgrading the gears for the tow package what are they doing, just slapping on the hitch?

Pretty much, the 3.73 gears have to be installed at the factory according to the dealer.
I don't think I'm done with this dealer yet.
I haven't raised a fuss over the axle ratio's, I'm waiting to have the remainder of the options installed first.

Are you kidding Maw? Girard IS NOT a "mod. friendly" dealer.
If you modify your Jeep. You have to go to Montreal for the guarantee.
Girard has the worst reputation in the Lanaudiere area.
Call the service, and tell them that you have bigger tires more than 3%,.... you will understand what I'm talking about.
At the parts dept., the guy doesn't know nothing about the Wranglers.

So I picked up the Jeep today after another failed attempt at getting the uConnect working. Not even out of the lot and found out the stereo now has static (listening to a MP3 CD).
Turned right around and gave the VP of the dealership a piece of my mind
Anyone know what the rules are about returning a vehicle for a refund?

With 35" Girard will refuse the guarantee for:
Differential, axle, transmission, berings and some engine parts
With a litf kit, Girard will refuse the guarantee for:
Sterring damper, direction parts, etc
I had this experience, and on another forum, many other Jeepers.
If you go to PAT Chrysler (for example) they will accept the guarantee.
I'm not telling you that Girard is not a good dealer, he's just NOT a "mod. friendly" dealer
