Montana only needs one. And FYI...Canadian vehicles are exempt in the us. If you law states you need only one mirror yet the state you go to requires two. Your exempt because your registered where only one is necessary. Same goes for us...in Montana...my tires can stick out as far past the fender flares as I want. I drive up to fernie and Calgary all the time and I'm exempt up there eventho their law says tires must remain covered by fender flares.

I stand corrected! Most of the states I've lived in including Massachusetts, New York, and California have all required 2. I didn't realize there was an "exempt" rule cause local cops seem to pull people over (especially out of state plates) for damn near anything not keeping with local laws.

yup just one mirror for us! but just to be on the safe side i always put on the driverside mirror . From what i have been told yes its only 1 mirror but the rearview mirror does not count it must be out side the jeep to see your blind spot on the driver side , some opp or city police will pull you over and might just give you a warning, but for the most part they leave us alone !

You may want to check out the new Rugged Ridge mirrors. I saw them on here this week. They use a round mirror that uses the windshield bolts and has a big knob to take them off when you want to. They solve the "can't see my passenger side mirror" issue. I have a set of HD mirrors now but I think a set of the new RR ones are in my future.

I have the relocation brackets from rugged ridge i think. They are good form me but the passengers is useless. It works great if you have someone in the passengers seat to look for you. Anyways I like it because it takes 2 minutes and the soft doors are off and away i go.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info gang! I was being told that the minimum was rearview plus the driver's side mirror. To think that I was going to skip going doorless on a hot day! I might as well own an FJ
