whether you knew him or not, come out and line the HIGHWAY OF HEROS with your jeep for Trooper Marc Diab (aka Dirtyleb) last ride.

RIP Marc and THANK YOU
we will be Saluting Trooper Diab on THURSDAY in Oshawa
ALL ARE WELCOME. hope to see you there. Convoys from the west are coming from London and further. from the east from Trenton and further. Should be a good turnout to show Trooper Diab Family what "A jeep thing" is all about

Tosca Banquet Hall & Conference Centre
800 Champlain Avenue, Oshawa, ON L1J 7A6
this location has kindly allowed use of their parking lot with direct sight lines of the 401... the manager has kindly asked that parking lt be clear for a function at 17:30
If the procession leaves Trenton at 14:30, then its roughly 113km away, so i would think a gathering time of 15:00 would be ample time to socialize and be prepared for it. The Procession is expected at roughly 16:30. Only thing i ask is all attendees behave in keeping with why we are all there.

Damn I'd love to take part since I just bought a new JK Rubicon myself, however I'm stationed down in Fort Irwin California for a month.
Hope the turn out is good guys and to Marc, Audax et Celer!
Take lots of pics.

Didnt know he was a Jeeper. RIP man.
I have lost quite a few now, and am supposed to go over in Jan of next year.
I wont be at the memorial, I have tried but I cant. I went to a friends re pat in Trenton a few months ago. Not again.
Well done on you Rando for organizing (or passing the info on) this. You just got a few beers bought from me when we get a chance to hook up.

A Poem for Our Soldiers
The soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell
We shall never forget!
