It won't be here till Monday so they are going to arrange a rental for me at 10:00 tomorrow (remember I'm not entitled for one until the second day), I guess they want to make sure I am inconvenienced exactly 24 hours before providing me with one. (is Scott's cynical tone rubbing off on me )

So I said, OK, I will buy that it was the floor mat, just tell me why the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) came on for the throttle position sensor.
She said it was because I was going too fast

I was accelerating up the onramp to the 401 doing about 80kph the first time, and then accelerating from 40 to 80 on Bell Blvd the second.
I told her that I have driven the Jeep faster than 80km before when on the highway and I have never seen this light. Is it normal to come on?
She said it came on because "it was a panic situation".

In all seriousness, There is a chance that it was the floor mat. I have no idea why they think a new peddle is required unless there is a defect on it that could have caught on the mat?

That might explain it, and I may have thought of a reason for the warning light.
If the floor mat had caught on the peddle, and I had stopped the vehicle with the brakes, would it be smart enough to question why it was getting two conflicting commands? if so, it might have questioned if the throttle was working correctly. In this case, then the warning light only served to convince me that there was a mechanical problem when there might not have been?
Could the light have come on from going into high RPMs? Wierd....what floor mats are you using? I had the stock ones and there is no way they weigh enough to push my peddle to the floor.

Do like scott said call transport Canada

And watch how fast the dealership calls you back

My gr caravan was missing the 2 bolts that hold the airbag to the steering wheel noticed this when my reset my odometer and it feel into my lap

Called transport Canada first half an hour later my neighbor calls me at home and says he on his way with 2 screws and will fix it. And I know he's my neighbor and all but it never hurts to go over the regular channels

The Mopar slush mats (with tire tread pattern) was in it when I got the Jeep.

I later saw them on the sales contract as an option they didnt tell me about
I hate paying for extra stuff without asking for it

I am now second guessing myself and assuming that it was my fault.
I have no idea why they want to change the peddle, maybe there was a problem with it (Something sticking out that hooked onto the mat?
Anyway, if I can't get the light to come on by holding rpm at 3000 and stopping with the brake, then I will call. If it comes on, then Ive proved that I'm a Dumba$$

the gas pedal is and electronic rheostat and motor and that was ur problem,

the mopar slush mats fit in in such a way that they stay clear of the pedal as they sit with the hook.

I would tell them that you want your money back on the mats and they can keep them, if, as they say that was the fault of the mats.

next i would ask why they replaced the pedal
i would ask what was the code that came up any of these and i would suspect

p0221
p0222
p0223
p0503
p0501
p2100
p2101
p2107
p2110
p2112
p2115
p2116
p2118
p2122
p2123
p2127
p2128
p2135
p2138
p2166
p2167
the last few have to do with the pedal, the upper ones are at the throttle body.

I have seen this before when i worked at a dealer, it is called the "omission" do not acknowledge what the problem was but fix the problem so it doesn't happen again.

dealerships and their people go to school, paid for by the manufacturer on how to protect the company. and that is what you are experiencing.

here are some of the steps of omission
-not over reacting when someone say they had an issue
-say they never heard of that before
-blaming the owner is the step that sets up doubt and makes the customer start to second guess the events, of the incident.
they for no reason throw parts at it, the issue
-deny deny
-explain away events
-change the events
-deception of events
-play down the customer like they don't really know what they are talking about
- do not say sorry as it is an admission of guilt or fault
and ya we think they are the dumb counter monkey... but they really are not they just act that way, it is a cover called cloak. they went to school to learn how to handle customers and in depth issues.

and to top it off i would not be surprised if you don't actually get a new pedal but your pedal cleaned up and the one they ordered that was paid for by Chrysler under warranty went on their shelf so they can make twice the money off that part.

ah the fun

if you are pissy with them they will inconvenience you more a lot more
