When I was with Geotech we used nothing but Google Earth for mapping out our survey locations, locating fuel catches, identifing spots where we could land the chopper, bed down and camp over night...
It's a great tool/app.

For those with Google earth,

The file should opened in Google earth

and that was the abridged version of the run
there are still 2 dams and a huge water crossing (ice) and more south bound roads from the army reserve rd also there are other atv trails but you all seemed so hung up on pinstripes
you could easily spend a day out there scouting trails
i like going out there in april when the thaw has hit, its a great way to wash the under carriage and get rid of all that salt and sand and winter guck.
tunes we can run down there then bring hip waiters.

Here is a cool thing to try out, if you load pictures up to http://www.panoramio.com/, after they evaluate them, they will put them into Google Earth (they are strict, must be scenery and not have any people in them) Here is the first one I did just to try it out.

It's cool to see your own images in GE. I think I am going to try and make sure any future ones I take will show that they were taken from a Jeep, like this one. You can see the windshield bumpers.

Our 911 mapping system works that way, It close enough I can see what jeeps I had at the time the images were taken.
The new updated mapping will have the street views of each street address. It neat and scary at the same time!
