Default How to check your own trouble codes.

Not sure if you've seen this, but seeing how we're on the subject about Dealerships (aka Steelerships) and the such, I found this on Project-jk.

Great thanks.
I wish I had checked the codes before taking the jeep in this morning.

This doesn't erase the codes right?
That way they are still there for the dealer to confirm the problem

doing that method can clear an erroneous code with the check engine light on
but the code is stored in the memory

ya tunes we could have pulled the codes with my scan gauge and cleared them if we wanted

but i was to busy getting poked by poky

Key in the ignition, cycle from off to on three time and then leave it in the on position, but do not start the engine. The codes should come up on the odometer.

Since this is from memory, it might be five times instead of three.
