We got a few inches this morning. On the way to the GO Train, all the cars in front of me where spinning and fishtailing around corners, I threw it into 4H and cruised. Stock Rubi tires, didn't lower the psi at all and it was like driving on dry pavement.

 

Bear in mind that snow isn't sand. Lowering the tire pressure will not help your traction in snow.

 

It’s all about finding that happy medium, each Jeep and tire is different and it depends on your driving habits. All my rigs have seen a combination of city driving, and allot of hwy. I’d leave the city without a cloud in the sky and by the time I got home there would be a light dusting (with just over a foot) on the roads. It's a great feeling when you are passing snow plows in the ditches and the jeep just keeps pushing on thru.

With my TJ’s I ran my BFG A/T’s at 27lbs and they were great in the winter, My YJ with the BFG MT’s the real bad day’s I dropped down to 23lbs but most of the time stayed at 30lbs they handled it great. With our JK we’re still waiting to see how the MTZ’s work, like I said before I’m planning on dropping them down to 25lbs. It’ll drive the sensor nutz but what the hell.

 

Lowering tire pressure has always helped my traction in the bad weather....I guess it sands here instead of snows.

it finally snowed this morning , and im really surprised how well the JK and the stock 18" bridgestones work on slippy road

can't wait to get my 33" procomp and try this truck in deep snow

 

Thanks for the tip...Lowering tire pressure seems to make it better in the snow...I also got the BFG"S M/T...Hope it goes well this winter...

 

You mean in the sand....because apparently it doesnt work in snow.

Finally got snow yesterday/last night (about 5". I know only a slight dusting, but it's still snowing) Dropped the MTZ's down to 25.5lbs, between the snow and black ice they worked great. No issues or concerns to write about.

I don't think the people following me cared for the rooster tail that was coming off of them though . That'll teach they to tail gate.

 

I have the MTZ's as well, and am also runnin them about 25 lbs.
I noticed they were pretty shitty in the thin layer of snow, but better in the deeper stuff. To be honest they were actually much worse than my old BFG's were last year in the snow.

 

Ya ok, you made your point the first time. Having driven rally cars in my younger days we never aired down for the snow. It's obvious that we differ in opinion on the subject.
