Default JK Jam 2009 .... date with in.....

OK well here is this weekends info in regards to JK Jam 09
the JK Jam 09 Committee says hello and thank you for your initial interest.

first we will bore you with interesting info that doesn't mean as much as the last few words in this post mean.

so if you have a short attention span jump to the bottom

quick name for the event:
JK Jam 09
true name
The Great Central Canada 2nd Annual JK Jam 2009

At this point we have numbers for :
30 JK owner's interested already
with guests we are probably at 80 total souls
And we have room for so much more!

Participant draw is a 6hrs or 600km 370miles circumference from the event co-ordination site Trenton / Quinte West, Ontario Canada this would cover all of south and eastern and western Ontario and into the USA Lansing Michigan, Toledo Ohio, Cleveland Ohio, Pittsburgh Pa, Lancaster pa. East ward to Quebec City Quebec, and to the North toward Sault Saint Marie.

plans for accommodation are in the works with area Hotels, it is looking good as there is only a fiddler event scheduled in the area.

rough camping is available, after a long day and time by the camp fire some can just about crash anywhere and you are welcome to do so at the events Co-ordination site.

We have an awesome emcee lined up.

We are in the works to get our sponsors online with the event.

this event is for any person who owns a 2007 or newer Jeep JK wrangler 2 or 4 door modified or stock Jeep can attend. Attendance is restricted to Jeep JK owners with that vehicle being at the event, provisions are available for guests of JK owners that come in a non JK vehicle. Your guest= your responsibility.

hold on to your questions more info will be released next weekend with a sum up by March that should answer any question you have.

well we would love to stay and chat with you all but there are things to be accomplished.

PS your committee members are in no order other than how they came to memory:
dyolfknip
tunes
whIwrk4
captain hook
scbesse
zebco99
2summer
WRAITHYJEEP

Cost for the event ZERO DOLLARS for participant and no entry fee for vendors
Donations accepted for the event to recoup costs and to pay for a social evening, also percentage of the participant donation will go to research to find a cure for breast cancer, this will be between 10 and 20 % depending on total donations collected. this leaves you money for a hotel if ya need it, for human fuel and Jeep fuel. what else do ya need?

As a committee we have come up with a date and are now releasing this date so that you can plan out your future as to not miss this event.

The date for JK Jam 09 is June 19 20 21 22
Friday is a roll in day
Saturday early morning JK 101 with trail all day long.
Sunday social events day and some pack up and return to society
Monday perhaps its not time to part yet who wants to go to work on a Monday after a great weekend so the good times roll on and then stragglers leave.

the JK Jam 09 committee wishes to thank you for reading this post and hopes to see you out in June.

Quick question about accommodations.

Can someone check with CFB Trenton to see if there are any transient quarters available for people that would qualify to use them?

Thanks

I'll take care of that this morning.
I can't see it being a problem.

Cheers

OK that was easy.
No problem with availability at this time, and they don't expect it to be a problem being a weekend.
Contact the Yukon Lodge reservations desk at 8 Wing Trenton (local 7126)

Unfortunately these rooms are only available to DND personnel, or Civilian employees of DND and their dependants.
Also, the cost for Civilian employees is significantly higher than DND members if they are not on official business, ouch

Hey Tunes

Thanks for the information.

What about US service members? I'm stayed at a couple of US bases in Europe while on vacation with no advance reservation? Just showed my Canadian ID and I had a cheap room for the night.

Good point, I hadn't thought about that.

I just called and US military would be treated the same as Canadian, low rate applies even when they are not on official travel.

So, that works out to $47.70 Canadian/night (taxes included),

That is how much American? ($39.00) as of today.
