Planning for PA trip
Well since it's less than 2 weeks away, I figure we should figure out what the game plan is?
I know myself, Steve, and Art will be heading over to Todds house Thursday night, and leaving from there Friday morning....but what are the plans for breakfast, and time for crossing the border?
I received a PM saying that there is supposed to be over 30 JK's crossing together at the 1000 islands border
Is this right?
So lets make this official and get the plan together.
When and where are we meeting for breakfast?
Will everyone that is going be attending breakfast?
For those that are not, what time and exactly where will we be meeting to cross the border and start our convoy down?
Todd and/or Scott, I'm hoping you guys can give us some insight for this stuff since it's in your neck of the woods, know of anywhere good for b-fast that can accomodate all of us?
Also lets keep a running count of who is crossing at the kingston/1000 islands border with us?

I have no idea what time we are supposed to be leaving. I am home at 1600 on the Thursday night. I will PM my cell number to all who are supposed to be crashing at my house. Just give me a call when you are getting close to Kingston and we can go from there. I have some sort of sleeping arrangement for everyone who has said they are coming. If some of the Ottawa people want to come up to Kingston the night before, I can accomodate but bring an air matress. all are welcome.
There is a GREAT Husky just off the 401 before the border we can stop for food at. I havent heard from Scott lately so I dont know what he is up to.
Todd
Husky sounds good for breakfast!
Is there any way you can get directions or and address to it and we can maybe use that as our meeting point and carry on from there?
Roughly how far is the Husky from the boarder?

There is a coupon on that page for a $3.99 full breakfast. We can print a bunch out here.

I could just be crazy but leaving too early is stupid(from Todds house friday morning) I say 6:30 at the earliest, what is the difference if we are in PA at 4:00 or 6:00, we are not going to be there to do any wheeling after a 8 hour drive anyway, so we should tell the groups crossing the border not to cross before 8 or so??? what do you guys think

For us to be AT the border for 0630 is a little impatient. I dont want to get there and sit in the hotel parking lot. Any others thoughts on this?
Scott feel free to chime in here at any time. I dont think you want to be leaving Trenton at 0430.
Todd
I have to agree..... my GPS tells me it is a 5.5 hour drive there. So figure in a gas stop (4 times for Wayne) and some lunch maybe 7 hours total. Check in is 1500. So I am thinking the latest we should hit the road is 8ish. I may jaunt over to the Indian Echo Caverns and check that out that afternoon, depending on how tired I am. Seems pretty cool. There is also a Hershey factory for those with kids.

The Husky is located on the 401 at mile marker 632, thats Joyceville Rd between Kingston and Gananoque, where the border is just east of Gananoque at about mile marker 661.
Todd your right its actually out of the way for anyone comming from Ottawa Montreal area to drive the extra 20 minutes or so beyond Hills Island border crossing to meet you there, and then head back again.
I think there might be room if it is an option for people to meet up beyond the toll booth for the 1000 islands bridge authority, and the actual customs office/border. I think there might be a few shops and duty free stores with parking lots being enough to handle a few dozen vehicles quite easily, between the toll both and the border, right on Hill Island itself. There is the 1000 islands observation tower there if I recall, lots of parking, and its a pretty visable landmark just prior to the border itself.
If your looking for a good spot to meet up with the Ottawa people, that would likely be your best bet. Anyone comming from Toronto could meet you for B'fast at the Husky.
Sounds like it is due to be a good time, i'll have to see about getting this weekend off next year and make it myself.
Cheers

Wish you were coming man....

Agreed, 6:30 at the border is nuts!
Lets set a time to meet at the Husky for b'fast for those that are coming from the west and then set another time to meet the rest of the crew near the border.
The only reason that I will have to stop for so much gas is from hauling your rims/shocks/and springs from Whitby!
