Recovery in Bobcaygeon
First off thanks to all involved helping in the recovery of RubiconMonster.
It started off with me logging onto a forum called deleted canada and I noticed a fellow jeeper was in need and had been stuck for 2 days in the bush. It was 5pm so myself ,2summer,Morticon and another jeep buddy Ron head out to the rescue.
Keep in mind we have never met this person in our lives and its a 1.5 hour drive for most of us.
We arrive at the trail head at about 7:30 and continue in to his known location, by now its dark out, so on go all of our offroad lights. Finally get to him and find there are a few Jeepers already at the task if pulling the now undriveable jeep out of the water/mud. These guys had already been wheeling all day at Rocktoberfest so after they got him out they shook hands and went to get some well deserved food and rest.
So here we are a Jeep that is dead weight. Clutch fried.....battery dead. We have 2 choices....tow him back the long way....or pull him thru what he originaly got stuck in. We chose pull him thru as it was WAY faster. 2summer hooks on with snatch straps and pins it flying thru deep mud and water with logs in it......stuck. I am on the other side with winch, hook on to 2summer pull him forward. Between 2summer and i we get both vehicles across the bog from hell.
There were several more snags along the way.....like Tow jeep losing all power, losing its belt, glowing red rear brake discs.
It ended up being a great night and getting a fellow offroader out of a huge jam. His jeep will need some major work but with the joint effort of all that helped in any way, made it very worth the while.
Great Job EVERYONE and lets hope Rubicon Monster learned his lesson and gets his jeep fixed.

P.S lets set up a night wheeling trip ASAP

Glad you guys got him out, I saw the post but was at work until 9pm :( I would have loved to help out. Hopefully someone posts some pics, since for some reason they are not allowed on Jeepkings? I am up for night wheelin

Thanxs to everyone that helped me out of that muddy situation! :)
First of all I would like to start by saying thank you to each and everyone on that trail that night that came to my aid my JK would have been a landmark on the old lodging route if it wasn't for you guys. I was so impressed and overwhelmed with joy as I saw an army of Jeeps Coming down this almost vertical hill near the hunting camp because at that point I had already tried everything and lost all hope of recovering my jeep.
It all started Thursday night when me and my buddy Brad had been at the cottage and came across this trail on google and decided to check it out. I had just recently bought my JK and as all of you jeep owners and jeep enthusiasts would know I desperately wanted to take it on the trails. So we were making good time over all the rocks and waterholes, almost at the end of the trail as we run into this muddy bog pit from hell. Sure enough the first thing that comes to mind is I want to put my Stock Rubi to the test. We quickly submerge into the quickly sinking silt and mud that is much deeper than we first anticipate. We try for nearly half hour to wedge ourselves out really just digging us deeper in. Finally we come to the conclusion that its completely stuck and so are we until we make it back to the nearest road which is about 2 hours walk through treacherous terrain and the sun is already beneath the horizon. Very ill equipped and underprepared with just a hatchet, machete and an keychain LED light we conclude that if we don't make it back to a shelter soon we will probably not make it at all. Luckily we manage to find a hunting cabin with plenty of fire wood, warm blankets and matches. We manage to stay awake the whole night waiting for the owner to give them a proper explanation. They do not come and we end up leaving them a detailed explanation in a note, we hoped that they wouldn't be to upset. They turned out to be a very nice and welcoming bunch offering me beer and a place to stay the next day as I waited for my rescuers, they even offered to take me hunting the next day!
Anyway enough of my survival story and back to the Real Heroes. Heroes is truly an understatement when it comes to these guys here I am just some random guy that they have never met in their life and literally within an hour and a half of receiving a text they were already on the trail coming to get me,IN THE DARK!! Some coming all the way from Barrie and even Niagara Falls to get me. Who else in the world would do this for a stranger I asked myself? Spending there whole night from 8pm until 2 in the morning to tow me out of there. I told them i don't ever know how I can repay you guys and they simply told me that one day when somewhen else is in the same situation you will do the same. And with that said they are completely right in every-way I will forever grateful for what everyone has done and will repay the deed as soon as I am off-road capable again to whomever is in need.
This adventure truly proves how strong the JK community really is and their ability to treat a fellow Jeep owner as their own. Thank you to all who made it out there again it was a lifetime experience that i will never forget and will always appreciate, cherish and I will try to live up too your reputation. Last but not least I would Like to thank your Jeeps lol I know it sounds Silly but None of this would have been possible without them they are beautiful monsters who are more than capable of tackling any terrain, even at night towing dead weight
Im looking forward to chatting with all of you guys on the Forum and hitting the trails in the near future. As for Rubi, well she's in better condition than you would think, she started up at my mechanic and even went into gear and drove so hopefully she will be on the road in no time.

Wow, what a story. My hat is off to those who drove out to help this fellow in need. It's one of those reads that gives you shivers as you read through. Agreed, its a wonderfull display of how strong the Jeep community really is....not to mention Canadians eh!

Great story boys. So nice to see another Jeeper in need get help from our community. We need to make a thread in our section on here for stuck problems. I check this forum more than Jeepkings as I find it much easier to navigate on my iPhone.
