Stopped by the Police
I have been stopped by the Police today (Surete du Quebec)
He inspected my Jeep: suspension, etc.
I was affraid about a mecanical inspection, because of my 4" lift.
He returned to the car for the verification of my license...
After, he told me that I crossed a double line, and then, he said that he's the owner of a TJ Rubicon 2005, and he asked me many questions about the new Rubicon. blah blah blah After 5 minutes, he told me that I won't have a ticket for this first offence
Thanks God because I had a Rubicon this day!!!

Me too just got to be as cooperative as possible so they don't send us for an inspection. At the end of mine he said you are missing two screws on your license plate that was bolted to my tire carrier
I replied that it came from the dealer like that and he still gave me a ticket for $150 bucks for doing an American stop

a few years ago I got a $150 ticket for "Failing to remain stationary for 5 seconds"
A neighbour (female) got a warning for "Failing to remain stationary for 10 seconds"
I think they just make these things up.
I wanted to fight it, but my court date was in the middle of my 3 week vacation down to Lake Tahoe, so I had to pay it or loose the trip. That really sucked.

she said you didn't stop for the 3 second rule
and said i was guilty
went and looked it up in the ontario HTA there is no time for a full stop
just needs to be a complete stop
so i appealed and i won

Never heard about this 3 seconds rule in Quebec. I talked to my neighbor this morning about that (he's policeman)
He told me: "When you stop, the front bumper must move up. If the front bumper does'nt move up, it's not a complete stop"
