What is this?
Also after I took the Jeep out to the store I'm getting this knocking or thumping noise for underneath, almost as if whatever the ring was holding is now loose or those 4 washer plates that I had to remove in order to get rock rails on ( rails had that painted grizzly grip on them and couldn't fit over washers )
2 questions, what do those washer plates do? And if they weren't tightened 100%would there be a knocking sound present or is that because of this O ring? Thank you
When i put my rock rails on i did have a small clanking sound from one side that i had not tightened enough. My rock rails we're a bit off from the factory holes so i had to bend it a bit. After i tightened it the noise went away so hopefully yours is the same
Maybe to fill a void or evenly spread pressure. You didnt remove anything permanently to install the sliders correct. Everything went back on the jeep the way it came off so I would just go over everything and make sure its tight.
I had to tighten the passenger front a tad, took it for a drive and heard it clunk once as oppose to a variation of clucks every bump in the road.
And the mystery of the O ring has been solved, typed in the part number in good ol' googletron and it's an exhaust hanger for my other vehicle.

When i had the rugged ridge rock rails on I had a squeak coming from one of the washes. It was rubbing on the inside where the body mounts are. could your clunk be that. If so just grind down the washer bait. It took awhile to find the problem but Jim at rockspyder 4x4 found it. A little rub made so much noise.
