Default Best shop in north jersey!!!!!!

If anyone in the NYC Metro/North Jersey area is looking for a shop to do work on their JK's, DO NOT HESITATE to call Chris Sabatini at Total Performance, Inc.!!! Him and his staff kick azz!!!! They tracked down my DW, installed my FT UCA's, serviced my diffs, retorqued my suspension, and aligned it for about 585!!!! He also found my rear Pinion gear had some chipped teeth and that my posi clutches were messed up! He found out because he took the time to pull my diff cover because he noticed seepage around my diff cover bolts! What an awesome shop and guy. Did it all in 1 day to boot! I asked him how much to do gears. He told me 2k, both axles, and he supplies all of the parts. He only uses top quality parts, too, but will order whatever brand you want.

Call them if you need work done!

I hope this helps anyone out there looking for a great shop!

$2k is a little steep for gears... Just parts are $550 from NorthRidge, $100 in good oil (2 oil changes).. that leaves $1350 in labor, which is STEEP, but everything is pricey in the NYC area I know

Yes I did call him that based on my experience with the other "4x4" shops in my area! He has proven himself to be the best in my book in the immediate area. No, he didn't show me the chip in the gears. He told me to take it to the dealer and get them warrantied! I didn't think the dealer would do it because of the 35's and lift. I did speak to my local dealer and the service writer told me to bring it in Tuesday and he'll get me warrantied up! Since his first advice was to have me go to the dealer, he's not just trying to sell me some shit I don't need. Since you found it necessary to sit here and trash talk, please tell me the difference between Positraction and a limited-slip differential. There isn't a difference. Posi is an LSD! Really, they don't look like a 4wd place? Did you drive down all the way from Sussex to look at his place? Naw, you didn't! Had you done that, you'd have seen nothing but Jeeps parked at his shop. That's so awesome to hear about OK4WD! Since I don't feel like making a 3 hour round trip, twice, with another person to follow and bring me home which equates to 12hrs. driving time for both people. I don't know how much your time is worth, but my time is worth a lot to me, and I'm not about to waste 6 hours of my time, and 6 hours of someone elses time to drive back and forth to OK4WD.

I think it's alittle high...I had a re-gear arb lockers custom sliders and a Or-fab tire carrier done for 3.5K But like said above it is NYC and also like the op stated where else is he going to get good work done close to him. So if you take that into account then he's probably right on the money.

Ripped off. $585 to service diffs and install UCAs? Really? Wow...$2,000 for gear install? With all the parts and labor, less than $1,400 here in Westbury, NY. Know him for a while, been wheeling for years, been working on Jeeps for years, owns Westbury Tire and Auto, ASE certified and know his stuff...entirely.

2 grand for gears is way too high . ok auto charges $500 per axle labor only and thats just plain ridiculous , i went to ok in jersey once in a while when i first purchased my jk but since its too expensive labor wise i started doing things myself but i did find a guy local to me that charges $500 total labor for the gear install and he's also a master welder whose done the welding of my EVO gussets and my front n rear rockrawler trac bar brackets and he charged like a total for all 3 if i remember a little less than $200 bucks.
check it out at endlessmtnfab.com and tell him david with the jk sent me. he might even charge less for the gears install if i remember correctly but will find out soon since i'll be getting my gears in the next couple of weeks. he's built a custom suspension for his 4 door cherokee including control arms and i think something like a 3 or 4 link in the rear and he mated 2 transfer cases together this thing is totally tricked out, i gotta take pics and post em up ....

I know this is an older thread but I think it should be kept up to date. Would have saved me sometime when I was searching around.

New Shop in North Jersey AUTOcouture Off-Road in Fair Lawn went there last week I was very impressed. Getting my work done there in 2 weeks and can't wait.

There is a thread on them on another forum just do a web search for Jay@ACOR
