With LIOR, we have our entire year's schedule, so people can take time off accordingly. Wheelin' with guys here on the site, usually, we know at least a month in advance.
3 hours to Rausch Creek. $30 (give or take) on tolls. $35 entrance fee at Rausch. It's anywhere from $120-$150 for the day with gas, food, tolls, fee, etc.

I kind of figured that, I can take the time off, I just need to make my monthly payment for the lovely JK at the end of the month. They nailed me with a decently high interest rate. But I would love to go, sounds like a blast. I'm sorry if I sound like a baby, I just don't want to bang up the JK that much since its my daily driver, and its still the TFCU's truck for the next five years.
Though my JK is not my daily driver, it is a street driven vehicle and I do make payments on it as well. You're not being a baby, just don't want to destroy the JK. I've pushed mine and continue to push mine, how I am. In the beginning, I didn't want to scratch or dent anything. The 1st run, tore 2 flares clean off the JK. From that day, I stopped caring in a way. It's what its for, what I bought it for.
As far as skids, you already have a t-case skid and gas tank skid from the factory. Though not "needed", definitely recommended. I have front control arm skids (EVOs, welded). My front control arm mounts got bashed to all hell and folded over, why I went with them. Now, with EVOs design, they are boxed and aren't going anywhere. Bashed at every event, zero issues. SkidRow engine/tranny skid. I bent and warped my tranny crossmember a lot. With the skid installed, the skid protects the crossmember and doesn't let me get hung up on it. I have a RockHard4x4 gastank skid above the factrory one. Being that I have a low lift with big tires to achieve a low COG, I get hung up sometimes. Not needed, but it adds security for me. Rear control arm skids are EVO RockStars. Again, mounts were folded over and I needed them. Front and rear diff covers. One thing that is DEFINITELY needed is rock rails. Last thing you want to do is take the JK's weight onto a rock right on the body. Lots of damage can occur. Though the last run we did to Rausch, most of the guys didn't have rock rails, no one had body damage.
I push my JK on blues/purples/blacks. So, damage occurs, why I need the protection. If you stick with the greens and blues, you won't scratch or dent much underneathe. With the right spotter, minimal bangs and scrapes.

Why I need my skids and rock rails, the trails we go on (with LIOR), usually run the entire span with rocks averaging this size.
With the old 33s, I literally dragged the entire engine skid, gas tank skid, and t-case skid to get over this, full weight of the JK on it, zero issues.
Everyone had to winch over that, no matter what setup they had. Pics don't do justice, as usual. The ledge was about 5' tall. Once you got your front tires up, you were right on the skids in the center of the JK. Pulled the line, winched over as the rear teater tottered in the air.
