(No relationship with them other than a long time customer.)
May be a bit off topic, but does anyone here commute to Manhattan from LI? We're considering moving out to LI next summer as I've had my fill of concrete. What's the "middle" train like getting to downtown during the weekday?
I lived in the city before I moved out to LI 6 years ago.
Take the train, don't drive.
I do General Contracting and Construction in the city. Live AALLLL the way in Holbrook and have to drive my truck everyday. Holbrook to the City, 1 1/2 hours at 6AM in the morning. The evening commute, 1 1/2-3 hours.

I live exit 62, Holtsville, commute to bayside or L.I.C.(very close to queensboro bridge) I work 6-2 And leave my house at around 5am, 40min to bayside 50min to L.I.C. Never drive more than say 70mph. On my way home add about 5 min. Even if I have to be in later I still leave early, less stress. I work those hours because of traffic and only because of traffic. Good luck
