Anyone know the law on 3rd brake light for nj? Do I have to have one, been running without it for a couple weeks now and just wondering what's the law
This is my rear right now And I also have the liscense plate blocked a little but don't feel like zip tieing it to the wheel

The law says if it was there it has to be....that being said I've had mine off for over a month and no problems

I'm just thinking if I get rear ended and the cop notes that I don't have one, what will insurance do? Flip around who's at fault bc no 3rd brake light?

If your woried they sell led lug nuts for the spare that act as a 3rd brake light think they're 38$

sent from the Bottom of the mud pit

Relocated the license plate and brake light to the spare so I had no run ins with the law. Also added a LED plate light.

Alright didn't want to buy those lug notes since mine are covered by the plastic plates

Made a temporary solution which might be a permanent solution lol I took off the light from the oem tire carrier then found these brackets (I think there the extended brake line brackets which I didn't use)

Then attached that to one of the mounting holes of the tire carrier

I still need to extend that wire but for right now I just can't have the carrier and the rear tailgate more than 12 inches apart.

Random question. For those who chopped fenders or switched fenders, my side marker lights won't work now and can't figure out why. I did a fender chop this weekend and just zip tied the side marker lights inside the fender wall for the time being. Did anyone have issues with not having working side marker lights? Was going to ask the cops at work tomorrow if this is a law or not. Curious if anyone here had issues.
