Question OK4wd - anyone use them for lift installs?

h t t p://ok4wd.com

Anyone use them for lift installs?
How professional are they?
How knowledgeable are they about JKs, specifically?
Good/bad experience?

Thanks

They are right near me, i have not used them myself, but some of my friends have...They don't have any complaints. I have seen some really nice JKs come out of there. In a few weeks i'll be going in to see about a lift and some 35s!

Couple things...
I asked a few times on the DIY path and really got no responses
After doing some research, and watching some install videos, it looks pretty damn complicated. I know there are very expereinced people on here. I'm looking to do a Teraflex 2.5-3.0 lift kit with all the extras and it looks like you need a lift, and lots of tools, etc to do it (not to mention aligment equipment)...maybe im being a puss and maybe some guys on here have a lift and everything we would need....am i being a puss?

i've never used them but i've heard nothing but good things about them. plenty of people i've met wheeling at rausch have used them and had no issues or no bad things to say at all. i like to do all of my own work, but if you're not comfortable with the installation, there's nothing wrong with letting a competent shop do it. glad to see ur doing ur research before just jumping into it. very smart move. i would be more than confident letting them work on my jeep and that says a lot because i don't like anybody touching anything on my jeep. the best part is, if something's not quite right, you can take it back and have them take care of it rather than having to deal with it yourself. just my

Never heard any bad experiences as far as quality of work..... however they are very expensive on labor prices that I've been quoted.

I installed my lift with few issues and I had never done anything like it before. I didn't need a ton of tools and I took my time. Help is a huge plus along with tall jack stands and a few hydraulic jacks etc... If you were to find help you could put the money you save toward other mods or back in your pocket. And then you'll know how everything works/goes together and if you were to damage something, you'll understand what it is and how to fix it while again saving more install money.

e: You can also buy tools and jacks etc.. with the money save doing it yourself.
Just my two cents.

Default OK4WD Opinion

I just used them to install the following:
TF BB 2.5" with shocks (no springs)
Spidertrax Spacers
TF Rock Rails
Heavy Duty Diff Covers
Off Road Exhaust.
Relocation of Evap

I could have done all of this myself and save the labor costs but I did not want to deal with it. Things I liked about the service was that they have most stuff in stock, did the alignment on the vehicle, aligned the steering wheel, used proper torque for everything, locktight on the spacers, etc. I did bring it back (as they recommended) to re-torqued the suspension and spacers.

I did do a green run up at Rausch and hit the front diff on a rock. Afterwards noticed a small leak. I brought to ok4wd and they resolved at no charge.

Been very happy with the work they have provided and highly recommend them. I don't mind paying a good price (not the lowest) for good service. If you are considering a lift and want to reduce (not eliminate) any issues with it I would highly recommend OK4WD. They are not the most expensive; nor are they the cheapest.

Good products and good service, fair price.

really great place that is very professional. I have used them for some jobs and another 4x4 place for others. They're prices are a little high but everything on the East Coast is for JK's for some reason. But they'll get the job done right and they work on these vehicles day in and day out so if a problem does come up they'll know what to do..

OK4WD installed an AEV 3.5" Premium Lift as well as the AEV Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier. They did a great job with no issues at all. OK4WD facilities are well equipped and stocked. The sales staff and mechanics are knowledgeable and professional. In my case, the work was done on schedule and there were no surprises in the estimated cost or the quality of the work performed.

Although I have access to a military hobby shop where I could do the work and get help if needed, I didn't want to take the chance of running into something going wrong or missing parts causing multi-day delays in the installation.

I recommend them.
