Agree was just up in Harrisburg this past weekend with no doors. Having an out of state plate helps out in that department.

I don't frequent that area even though I live in Lancaster. I think it's the Dover area though. I remember they snagged a bunch of jeeps last year during the show.

Isn't it perfectly legal in ALL of Pa????

I drive around all the time with no doors once I take them off and have no trouble in Berks/Montco/Chester County

Somebody started a thread from PA that they were pulled over for not having doors on. After researching the PA law it is not legal so you can get fined. I really think it depends on what county and area you live in.

So nice of them to hassle people who are paying their wages for something dumb like this. The show probably brings in nice tax revenue for the city and area.

"The doors shall open and close securely unless the vehicle has been manufactured or modified to the extent that there is no roof or side."
According to the PA code doors are optional on vehicles that were manufactured without a top ie: jeep, or at least that is how I interpreted the law. So that may give you a fighting point if you get a ticket. Especially since it says no roof OR side.

All I have to say is this is one time I'm glad from MD.

I live 15. Min. From the show location...I've never been pulled over for no doors. I think its really up to the cop, if he's a dick vs being cool. There aren't a lot of cops that patrol York anyway.

I do believe its illegal to have them off though.

Yeah if you get pulled over for no doors...its just like getting pulled over for tires that stick out "too" far, no front license plate, burned out tail light etc.....you were just "lucky" the cop picked yu that day.

I live 15 min from the show as well, and I HAVE been pulled over for it. Nice sunny Friday afternoon around lunch time in the summer. The wife and I both took off work and decided to take her Daughter and a friend (both 11 at the time) up to Pinchot State Park for the day to swim. Thought it would be a nice day to cruise around in the Jeep. We headed Rt30 west to 74N and all was well till we got near Dover. The officer that came after me blew through a red light at a busy intersection with his lights and sirens going full tilt. I saw he was in a hurry and immediatly got the hell out of his way only to have him whip in behind me. He was kind of a jerk to start with, but I was poilte. When I questioned him on the exact wording of the law he went straight ballistic on me. He was screaming at me so loud that his face was turning red. Looked like he was about to pop a blood vessel. All this with two 11 year old girls in the back seat (stay classy buddy). Anyway, after his little temper tantrum, he let me off with a written warning and informed me that I am now "in their system". Hell, the local cops around my place usually give me a wave.

The problem is that its up to a judge to decide whats legal and not........the cop can write you a ticket for whatever the hell he wants, and its up to you to show up and plead your case. If I would have got a ticket, I would have fought it, but there isn't much to do with a written warning.

I still drive doorless every chance I get, and don't think twice about it. BUT, I stay the hell away from Northern Regional's juresdiction. I don't have time to deal with asshats like that.

Its funny how in Dover the cops suck, maybe Mt. Zion Offroad being up there had. Something to do with it. Hahahaha lots of Jeep traffic around that area. That's who does all my work!
