Default Uwharrie Trail Difficulty???

Hello Friends,

Went to Uwharrie on opening weekend with my stock JKU Willys W. I enjoyed riding the Falls Dam and Wolf Den trails. I'm going back this weekend with a 2.5" lift added. What trail should I try next?

I error on the side of caution because she's my daily driver.

Stay away from the trails that start with a "D." That would be Daniel, Dutch John, and Dickey Bell, ESPECIALLY if you're wheeling alone, which is a bad idea. Our club is going back up tentatively on May 14th. You are welcome to tag along. Check out our club on FB too. It's a good pool of people to pull from so you don't have to go alone. Lots of guys from all over. You can also ask questions there if you're new to off roading.

Thanks for the info Sir. That's kind of what I gathered. How about Slab Pile and Saw Mill? I just don't want to break anything.

You'll be fine. Rocky Mountain Loop has a couple spots that look intimidating but you'll be fine. One has a by pass, and the other that's up a long bumpy hill, just go left when you get to the top. No worries.

I would not be scared to run dickeybell or dutch john with your setup. If you want to go to the top of daniel go up the backside there is nothing there that will give trouble. Also make sure you air down your tires

Thanks for the insight. I'm sure there will be a lot of people around this weekend to ask questions. I've spent a good amount of time off road, just in Uncle Sam's vehicles. It's scarier when it's yours.

If you don't have a CB. I recommend getting one or at least a handheld. Ch32 is the oh Sh*t I F*cked up channel for help.

I ran all the D's with 35's and 2.5" lift but I do have a lot of rock rash on my undercarriage... I recently upgraded to 37's and will get out soon to have a go at it.

I have been considering taking the family to Uwharrie in our mostly stock 2013 JKUR Manual Trans with 30-3/4" actual wheel height BFG KO tires, plus Magnuson Supercharger, and RockHard 4x4 Sport Cage.

Interested in having some fun and not breaking anything. Can we even consider doing trails Uwharrie?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are lots of trails you can 'simply' drive on with no concerns for damage or getting stuck. Even on some of the moderate trails there are ways for you to by-pass. I see lot's of stock Jeeps on the trail.
