When does the turbo kick in ?
At what point (RPM) does the Turbo come to life on the 2.8CRD ?
Also, is there any where I can obtain a detailed 'diagram' of the 2.8CRD used in the wrangler.
Been on the manufacturers website some time back but could only find a picture with specs.
Not a mechanic but would still like to know what and where everything is under the hood and how things work.

Hey the maximum torque output is between 2000-3000 rpm, however not certain if this is when the turbo kicks in (I think it just depends on how quickly you press the pedal). Not sure about a full diagram but I have a copy of the parts list which has semi-exploded views of the engine. Its useful to find part No.s but not sure how good it will be to learn about the engine. Its 8.11 MB so I cant post it as an attachment, could you pm your email address?

The turbine picks up earlier, I'd say around 1200RPM start to become noticeable.
I have somewhere an Italian magazine with a road test, if I find it and can scan just the chart I'd post it - If mods agree, if not I can send it by mail.

Not sure when my Turbo kicks in,I will have a look today some time, but i do also have a diesel related question. I have been looking at diesel chips localy and have found diesel chips in Australia but all the recommneded ones are around AU$1500, i have also found quite a few Euro ones and the range from $250/ £100 from the UK, what is the difference between the expensive and less expensive ones? They all claim to give you the same Extra Kw and HP?

The gotengines website says "usable torque" starts at 1,800 rpm. You can actually feel the turbo at around 2,000 rpm
