Default block thread / tag

I know you can block seeing posts based on user.

Is there a way to block seeing threads based on tags or by selection?
In particular, I'd like to filter out political and religious discussions, and I'd like the software to do this for me.

doojer uses this Firefox plug in just for that purpose. You need to use Firefox for it to work though. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7023

I'm trying this out. I had to sign up with mozilla to get it though.
I'd prefer something server based, so when I swap to the home computer or the travel computer or the phone, I see the same stuff.

But this kinda works for now, thanks.

I downloaded the firefox I like it so far. I must admit I used it for about 5 min after it first came out and I didn't like it. It seems pretty good now, I just have to get used to where everything placed now. Thanks again.
