Out of all places, a jeep site, this site, is one of the least likely places I'd expect to see anti gun / freedom BS being advertized.

That really makes me angry!

 

if you have read thru some of the political topics posted here You can see there are many liberal leaning obama voting probably be glad to kill you to make sure you couldnt own a gun types on here .

 

Which consists of the owner as well, apparently.

Depending on what service the owners are using to serve ads, the ads you see are not necessarily what we see. If you've been reading many articles about Sandy Hook, and the anti-gun movement, and yadda yadda, you're going to get those kinds of ads because of the "Cookies" placed on your PC.

Now if they are not running those kinds of ads (Google AdWords, etc.) then it could also be because of the gun conversations that happen on this forum. The ad serving companies recognize these words, "gun, AR-15, glock, etc.) and serve ads. So do the anti-gun movements.

Whoever owns the account that is serving the ads, could go block them, but only in the 2nd scenario.

It's all an effort to serve you highly targeted ads so you'll have more of a chance of clicking them.

Now many people don't like that ads track your behavior on a computer to serve you more relevant stuff, but if you put that aside for a second, and before anyone goes and downloads ad blocking software, the owner of this forum (Wayalife, i guess, right? i dunno) is providing this to us for free, and hopefully he's making a few pennies on the impressions of these ads being served to us, but he really only can cash in when they are clicked. So don't block them, and every now and then if you see something interesting, click it.


Now, the 3rd type of ad from this high level overview is direct ad buys, where companies go to Wayalife, give him $ for a period of time, or a # of impressions. However, I don't think thats how the anti-gun ad showed up. Just my $0.02, and I have a lot of experience in this field as I publish many blogs, and I work in mobile marketing where mobile web and app ads are very relevant conversations right now.

 

wayalife sold the site a long time ago. i think its IB that owns it now

 

I got an anti gun email wanting to sign a petition against them. F- that. It pisses me off the way they try to push this crap. Guns aren't the problem. Its some of the people who own them...

It's quite easy to understand if You deal with them regularly,
but for the rest of Us..... it seems to be just another tool from
Big Brother to track Our every move when using the web.
