I did it in a stock CJ7 about 4 years ago. The switch backs are not that bad. And the trail is not that narrow. You can only go one way on the trail so you don’t have to worry about oncoming traffic. I thought the harder spot is when you first start over the saddle and begin the switchback section. You are going downhill over shale and really can’t see the road in front of you. All you see is Telluride Way down there. If a hummer can do it-----

Make sure you take a crap and pee first. I'd sure as hell hate to have to get out and go. Damn that'd scare the living $hit out of me.

This is late but someone might stiill be wondering. Ya that pic isn't how it looks anymore. It is not that bad, I just came back from it in mid-aug. My buddy did it in the dark with his stock 08 unlimited. A spotter would be helpful to see how close you are to the edge on the switchbacks. But the first 2 are the hardest. After that it is easy in my opinion. Just take your time going down.

We were just on the Black Bear backwards 4x4 run and ran the trail down twice and up twice in our 08 Unlimited with no problems.
My wife and I have been over Black Bear many times. With good driving skills and common sense, only the pucker factor is a problem.

Ya you are right that was 2 pics that were put together the old school photo shop way. No real at all, and it was a half pic from some trail in Oregon

(I know this is in my link from trails and tails) But I like when I see other peoples pics and I have pics in the same places. It's the, "Hey I was there!"
