Central AZ. Tip Top Mine Run.
The Central Arizona Jeepers will be leading a trail run to Tip Top Mine in the Table Mesa area on Sunday May 18, 2008. Below is the information, if you have any questions please post them here.
The Tip Top mine and ghost town trailride is confirmed. Scheduled for Sunday, 18 May, the Prescott contingent will assemble at the office complex in Spring Valley on SR-69 across Spring Valley Road from the Texaco store/gas station. Because we hope to beat much of the late afternoon heat, we have to get an early start so we Prescott folks will meet up at 0700 and depart Spring Valley at 0730 sharp. We will meet up with our Trailmaster Dennis, and the Phoenix and Valley folks, at 0800 at the intersection of I-17 and Table Mesa Road (East side) and depart there promptly at 0830. Den estimates this will be about a 4 hour trip. Make sure you bring something to eat and plenty of cold drinks for everyone in your Jeep. Den advises that if anybody wants to spelunk the mine shaft make sure you bring flashlights and good boots. There is much to see on this trailride and I don't think anybody will regret coming. This trail is rated easy and will be no problem for any stock Jeep. Newbies kindly review CAJ trail etiquette on the CAJ forum, and make sure you arrive with a full tank of gas. See you then.
