Colorado Mirror laws?
I read the short section under the state laws thread and it wasn't clear to me whether or not I need a side view mirror when I have the doors off. Section one only states that I should be able to see 200 ft in a rear view mirror. I am new to the state and was wondering if that does in fact mean that I DONT need a side view mirror.
I interpret it as being that if you have an unobstructed view of 200 feet behind the vehicle, then you don't need side mirrors.
I had my doors off a lot last summer with no issues. Just yesterday, my doors were off and I passed by a state trooper on 287 with no issues.

When I lived in Colorado I had a YJ and I never had an issue with having the doors/mirrors off. Just make sure that your rear-view mirror isn't blocked. I have a bestop tailgate rack that blocks my rear view mirror, so I actually have to have a side mirror, but if your back window is unobstructed I believe your windshield mounted rear view mirror is all you need.

Your right about the rear view mirror being the only mirror that you need in CO. keep this in mind though, if you were to say switch lanes on the highway and pop a car in your blind spot the investigating officer, at his discretion could show you at fault and may indicate that the vehicle was not properly equiped but would have to stick with careless driving and not a defective vehicle ticket...so remember to check your blind spots and I learned this from Envied 4x4, spin your mirror 190 degrees and you will get more clearance over your spare tire.
