Next weekend I'm planing a prerun. It will possibly be early on Saturday. Ya, If I can get my ass up. Hopefully my brother will be going in his rubi.

The idea of a prerun is, no one that I have talked with knows about this road, or have done it within the last 3 years. It's 20 miles and ALL day.
UNLESS the road is washed out! Thats why a preride...

I'm thinking if it gets through to the Klondyke side. There are fantastic camping areas. Possible a perfect place for an overnight...

Well, that is the idea. Lets talk about it.

I'm hoping this will generate a lot of interest since i know no one in the group I have talked with, has done the road...

Also if brother doesn't go, I really should have a second jeep,,,, but I'm going in any case.....

 

Is your pre-run going to be one day or multiple?

 

One day,,, then we know what to expect and possibly then plan an over night, maybe get some "Range Riders" coming... They are the Sierra Vista bunch.

 

I've wheeled with some of them.

 

I ran into the Range Riders on a trail south of Tucson, seemed like a nice Bunch. It was about a year or so ago, do you wheel with them often.?

Let me know about the Pre-Run, If I am able to go I will. It sounds like a really difficult trail, how would you rate it? Is it a mountain pass or desert run? Any other info?

 

No, I don't wheel with them oftern at all. Just meet them this last weekend in the mountains East of Nogales. They had a huge turn out at thier campout!!

Hmmm,,, told you about the rug road at your M&G.... Your too young for memory problems...

Trail difficulty is unknown by me. Weather, rain had done ? to the road. Thats why a look before I say its a great trail. My cousin said its an all day trail in his rubi. That was 3+ years ago.

Wed or Thurs I'll k now more about who might be going. And if I'm going because of weather.

I would like atleast one other jeep along to turn me back over if I tip...

I suppose the more the better, but I can't say how far we'll get.

Also, I have the GPS cords of the road...

You know what... The more I think about it, why do a pre-run? Just Post it up! The less we know the more adventure and drama involved the feeling of NOT KNOWING what's ahead is part of the fun. Since you have the coordinates lets just make it happen. What do you think?
