Rug Road
How far from Tucson is it? Approx.?
Well its not looking good weather wise. From Tucson you start in Mammoth,AZ. Past Oracle at the bottom of the hill. Then you go up into the mountains to the NE, and end up in Klondyke. The dirt part is 20 miles or so. Then the return is via either Safford or Willcox. It is a long day trip. The good part is, there is a great caming site in the Arivipa canyon. Water, trees ect....
Might have to wait till next weekend...

Found a great report on this trail. The guy did it on bike, but you can really get a feel for the trail. Doesn't look like any hard core rock crawling, but some really steep hills and beautiful terrain. This has moved onto my must do list, but can't go this weekend. I'll probably look to run this solo as I'll make it a photo shoot and no one wants to ride with someone who stops every 5 minutes then takes 20 to shoot 3-5 pictures.

Well ok, The guy(s) that did the trip on bikes are good friends of mine. The gate is now open as of a couple years ago. And we could buy our ways through in any case.
The weather looks ok. My jeeps all loaded. Probably forgot something though
I'm going
I'll be at the circle K in Mammoth at lets say 8:15. This Saturday.
I might have my brother in his jeep coming from here, maybe.
My cousin who ran it a few years ago did say it is an all day trip..
so who ever want to come along on a new trail, meet me in Mammoth 8:15 Saturday...... I might be there sooner, or a little latter. I do have a long drive just to get there....

Questions? My cell phone is (520)-841-1870

So if the gates are locked we better bring bolt cutters!
