anyone else like to "tinker"?
Count me in for sure. I use to take old TV's apart as a kid, amazed to this day I was never fried...Fly back transformers and capacators can hold a charge for some time, and 10K Volts will lit u up.
I think as Jeep owners tinkering comes naturally.
I for one am amazed how many write ups there are for the DIY, and the common sense thinking we all share...IE don't pay big bucks for a grill guard....gutter guard, some zip ties and you have a custom look, and a fraction of the price.
That's Jeepin!

I'm pretty bad. Whether it's obsessing over a fractions of an inch with a toe-in setting, or getting just the right stance, or checking air pressure, just just staring and poking under the hood - there's always something that needs to be tinkered with.
The other day I was out in the driveway changing out spring spacers in the front end. Overheard one of the young neighborhood kids say, "He's always out here working on his Jeep..."
I'm concerned about his status as a future jeep owner

I can top you all. I've tinkered while on Tinker AFB.
Regarding the rotary telephones mentioned earlier, I took one apart as a kid to see why the dial couldn't be forced to turn faster. I had noticed the harder I tried to increase the speed, the more it resisted my efforts.
