Best offroad GPS?
I also have a Vector e-dock and can mount a Viliv S5 or a Fujitsu U820 (windows 7 + Garmin topo) and/or an Acer A100 (Android + OruxMaps). OruxMaps is awesome. It lets us download many different types of maps and use the tablet's GPS for real-time location.
A100 + ICS + OruxMaps
Viliv S5 + Win 7 + Garmin topo
Also recently got an Acer W500 and have been running Win 8 RP + Garmin Topo as a test but the 10in screen is too big. The A100's 7in fits perfectly on the dashboard in front of the radio so it does not require moving eyesight too far.
What I do not like about the Garmin software is that it does not have the real time update neither connect to my PC's internal GPS. Does the National Geographic and DeLorne do that?
I'm still keeping the Garmin software because I also have an eTrex Vista that I use for hiking since it's waterproof and a lot more rugged than the tablets or UMPCs.

Harming 550 with topo for in close stuff and iPad for better area context.

The Garmin isn't mounted in this pic but you can see the plastic disc on top of the console where the suction cup goes. Hard to beat an iPad for value for money, screen size, apps etc etc

Yep, I bought a ipad2 with wifi only and use an external bluetooth gps made by dual electronics. It works great and they even have a free app for the gps. It works really well so far. I'm trying out a few different topo and street apps right now to see which I like better. The screen really is awesome for navigation.
Waiting to get cleared to post a new thread so I can sell it. I have a Lowrance Baja 840c new in box. It was never installed into my sand rail project which I sold 3 years ago.
Hey, your steering wheel is on the wrong side!
