Default Poor GPS Signal Inside of the Jeep

So here is my situation I have a TrailGuid Jeep GPS system mounted on my dash in the jeep mount. I have a Rock Hard sports cage with my CB mounted on a KC tube mount.

Lately i have had horrible GPS signal. i could lose signal driving down the higway and its extreemly worse on the trial. I know others have the same or close to the same setup. i think Wayoflife may have the exact setup i'm not sure. I'm wondering if anyone has these problems and or solutions. i'm looking at possibly getting a patch antenna.

I had one in my LJ and I kept on losing the signal and was always recalculating. This unit was very slow at recalculating I also had one one my Harley and it did the same thing. The GPS in not one of the better ones that Garmin has put out. I don't know if an antenna would help. I know the Trail Guide is an expensive unit but I would replace it with a Garmin Nuvi 500. It has a topo map and since it has a pedestian mode it also can be used for geocaching and hiking. The unit is also water proof and can be mounted on a motorcycle. It cost about $275 on Amazon.com.

Yea, I really wanted to stay away from the touch screens and got a good deal on the Trialguide. I've had it only a year now I really like the unit. i just wish garmin made an updated version.
