Thumbs up It's a GO...

My wife and I will be on the guided trail ride tomorrow Sat 9/18 at the Badlands. She will be in charge of the camera, so hopefully we will get some decent photos of the trails. It will also be interesting to see how well "non Jeep" vehicles do on the trails, as of course I am used to going off road with mostly Jeeps. We chose the moderate group, as I wanted to keep the day fairly stress free for the better half

More later, have to finish Jeep prep today. Will get to properly test my new rear axles and front C-gussetts on the trail...........

MI is on some Badlands property and some adjoining property. Indyorv has some info on it. the 35 covers your 20 for reg park enterance as well. If you get a small group you may be done early enough to hit the reg trails. Sounds like the MI is as hard or easy as you want it, but they try to put you in similarly built groups so you can hit the same obstacles and work together.

John I cant wait for the report. I would like to know how I would fair as a non-jeep. Redbird got a bit skinny for a full body, but I made it with not much more than lost paint. have fun buddy.

Post Report from Sat 9/19 Badlands MI property...

Made it! Wow, lots of fun- Had two groups; one moderate, one extreme. We were in the moderate group with 5 trucks, extreme started out w/ 3 and ended up w/ 2, don't know what happened to the 3rd We had a leader in a TJ Rubi, us, a JK Saraha stock tires 2.5 puck lift, another TJ Rubi, a Ford Bronco type truck, and a Cherokee well equipped. Started out across the Badlands and left the WSW fenceline to access a county rd for about 1/2 mile. Went in thru a farm type gate which was closed behind us. The MI property has a house on a rock bluff that belongs to an owner, and a stream twice as wide and 3 times deeper than the stream in the Badlands. All the property is wooded, very hilly w/ lots of newly cut trails that follow the stream and along the tops of ridges. We saw deer and what I swear was a black bear cub (photos soon). The Attica area has had no rain for 9 weeks, so the stream crossings were not difficult and the trails were all dry, very little mud except close to the stream. I must say though, that if it was raining - the whole property would be very much more challenging. Some of the washouts/rock gardens and ravines we drove would have been all day winch fests. There are some crazy rock bluffs that have had rock slide down and form some impossible climbing areas that only the most extreme rock climbers could attempt. We covered most of the property in about 6 hours; no damage except the usual fender scrapes and a tire bead leak on the Cherokee toward the end of the run. No one had a video camera, but we took lots of still photos of which I am still sorting thru......will post some to this thread likely by noon tomorrow Mon 9/20, as I am not missing any of the Colts game tonight, sorry....

Stay tuned............

OK, I'm back. GO COLTS!

Here are some pics from the trip:

Mud along the stream:

Another Stream Crossing:

Rock garden entering the ravine:

The ravine:

Deer (x2 if you can see the 2nd ones' hind section:

The controversial photo (black bear cub?) Will become viewed more than the old "Big Foot" photos:

Cherokee on the rocks in the owner's back yard....

Me on the rocks:

In the stream again...owners home upper right:

All in all very well worth the time to check out - only one more guided trail ride this year on Oct 16/17 I believe, check out the Badlands web site for details. You really only need one day for this property, unless it has been raining, then plan on all weekend to cover the whole Mission Impossible site.
