We talked about trying to find a place to have a trail ride, but there's just not good places to ride up here. If anyone knows of places let's make a list and put a ride together.

Jeepskool is fun but is only the first weekend of the month.

Any other places people know of??

I am actually going to register for that rausch creek topless for tata's run in august. Is the run really only one day though? like can we camp friday and saturday night and leave sunday morning? or do we all have to leave saturday evening? I've tried to find the information but their site is all jacked up with construction..

The event is Saturday only, but I bet people will wheel sunday.

As we get close we should organize a caravan. There are a few NEO4x4 people going too.

Caravan just reminds me of how each JKer has a little 3.8L "Minivan Powered" Jeep.. it hurts my confidence.

I'm up for a convoy that friday. I might have a final exam that morning, but by then i'll definately be ready for a small vacation.

Linc, you guys gotta stay for longer than just saturday.

I want to stay longer but I have he Cleveland triathlon Sunday morning at 6, so have to head out early. I haven't registered for the triathlon yet so we'll see, but I wouldn't count on it.

As for the caravan if we find a fast moving semi we can all draft and maybe get up to 70mph and 14mpg. My wife has to work so we will be leaving whenever she gets off. I am hoping she can get let out early for good behavior so we can make good time.

I am glad we will have a bunch of people going

So over the last week I have noticed the jeep has been running ruff. The gears sounded louder and weren't meshing smoothly. After looking at the undercarriage, my guess was that all of the mudding we did at jeep skool last weekend was the culprit.

Looked up WOL's diff fluid change and swapped out the factory with royal purple (I am more of a Mobil1 full synthetic guy but O'Reilly's only had one quart). After the change, which took 30 minutes the jeep runs like new. I inspected the old diff fluid and it was definitely tainted. There was mud and water. Not sure how since I had extended my breathers and they were still tight. My only thought was that all of the 4hi and 4lo heated the seals up and caused a gap that allowed the mud in.

Just thought I'd share. I can't wait for the next time I can get out to jeep skool.

i need to do this... bad. 60,000 and haven't done that yet. with many Jeepskool's under my belt. and one Jeepskool actually equivalates out to be like 3-4, thats when this picture was taken..

Thats on my list of to-do's, maybe even before the dealer replaces the driver side exhaust manifold and the driver side door bushings.

Anyway! reason for my post is because Rausch Creek is actually much farther away then i had thought. is that going to stop me? No. Mapquest says just over 6 hours. Is anybody planning on camping that friday night? if you are let me know because i'm gonna call in tomorrow and finish getting all my info and fill out the registration and that. Their site says group camping should be reserved, unless there is a JK-Forum group i don't really know. Input?

Erica found their trail descriptions and suprising the descriptions are really detailed, and it sounds like it will be a blast.

Amended note to self. Mud too much fun to resist stock up on diff fluid.
