Default Evansville Indiana trails?

I'm heading up to Chandler iN which is near Evansville In for the holidays and would really like to show my brother what a jeep can do! Are there any good places to ride inthe vicinity ? I hear they have a Jeep Jamboree there. Where do they ride? Any help would be most appreciated.

Interlake OHV area is about 30 mins or less from Chandler. There are some decent trails there. Expect it to be muddy though.

Here is a link... It is state owned property and regulated by the DNR. As of late, it is still free to use. Enjoy and remember to leave it cleaner than you found it.

Thanks guys! If there are any more options even as far away as an hour or two would be fine.

But what you suggested sounded fine. I should be there if plans shake out the way I think they will . the Thursday and friday before New Years day Anyone wanna join me?

As a side note, I noticed that you are running a 3" lift with 35 KM2's. Hows your 4:10 gear working out? do you wish you had a 513 or 538??

Might be a little farther than you want to drive, but there is an off road park near Attica, IN. I have never been there but I have heard nothing but good things!

There is a group going there on 1/2/11. It is in another thread on in the Great Lakes section.

Attica/Badlands is going to be about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs from Chandler. I haven't been there either, but I also haven't heard any negatives.

Redbird is about 1 1/2hr drive from Chandler. I have never been there in the Jeep, but was there on quads about 5 yrs ago. It was a nice place then and I've heard a lot more acreage and trails have been added. I would like to go back and check it out again.

Honestly, I don't find it to be terrible at all. Not nearly as bad as I had anticipated, based on what I was reading on here. I think it has a lot to do with the geography of your area. We have some decent rolling hills, but they are not mountains by any means. If/when I regear, I won't be going any lower than 5.13's. I don't really think I'd benefit from 5.38's around here...as long as I stick with 35's. Mind you, the KM2's run a little small so mine measure right about 34" at 30psi.

To sum it all up...I know I would see some benefits from a regear, but I'm not in a hurry to do it. It really doesn't suck at all with the driving I do. It's maybe just a minor inconvenience at times.

I see you are in ATL. I don't remember it being too bad there, but if I were cruising the mountains of north Georgia a lot, I would definitely move new gears a little higher on my list.

FWIW- I've had some of my best camping experiences a little north of Ellijay in the Cohutta WMA.

Thanks for the input. Yeah your right about most of my driving is just rolling hills. I hear you lose gas mileage too. Oh well I can't wait to get mine installed ! Next week baby!
BTW North Ga has some great camping. Especially in the Appalachian areas.
