Default Fall Visit recommendations

My wife and I are planning a fall color visit to Upper Minnesota, Wisconsin & the Michigan Peninsula camping in our teardrop trailer pulled by our Jeep. Looking for some recommendations for dispersed/primitive camping areas, scenic places, drives & trails. What are some of your favorite must see scenic places. Also looking at catching a trail run with a club if at all possible.

Drummond island was awesome, but it's as Far East as you can go in Michigan. There are a chain of like 9 waterfalls in the UP. Kitch-iti-kipi is really cool. There are several brewery's as well if you are into beer. If I can find the article of attractions in the UP I'll post it.

Try looking into Mich. State Parks or Federal Parks website, I used to belong to a Jeep Club (LCJ Facebook), that went the first week in October from Marquette (Wi / Mi border city) to Munise ( on Lake Superior ), be prepared for fall (colors) to winter weather (snow).
