Illinois JKs Check In
Was it still fun with a stock JK? I was thinking about heading down there this weekend. I was able to do quite a bit of stuff with a stock JK and A/T tires at the Cliffs but from what I have read Bad Lands is more accessible. Is that true?
It was super fun even with stock suspension and tires (the mud terrains). I had different bumpers and skids. I went down a second time and had a great time as well. I just put bigger tires and a small lift on it and might actually head down this Sunday to test it out.
Oh nice, maybe I'll see you there! I didn't manage to get stuck at Cliffs with my a/t tires in some pretty hairy spot so I think I'll make the drive. Are the crowds pretty manageable?
You will be fine at the Badlands with a stock jeep. The only thing I would suggest is rock sliders. If you don't have any, just be careful. Stay off of orange and red trail. You can do, green trail, white trail, some light stuff in quarry, and sand dunes. But there is plenty to do. My group had a newbie run this year and we took a bunch of stock jeeps thru without a problem. And there shouldn't be too much of a crowd. Also, they are 1 hour ahead on time, so plan accordingly when driving there.
I have a stock JK with AT tires and I still managed to have quite a bit of fun at The Clifs down by starved rock . From what I have read on other forums, and from what others have said in this thread, Badlands in Attica, IN has a bit more for stock jeeps.
