Sadly I didn't even know they were doing this. I'd camp for the weekend but that Sat is my Wife's birthday.... Local guys we can discuss next time at the 'Lube.

R.C. Rock Crawl

 

Racing starts tonight at 8pm. I plan on being there around that time or a little earlier. I'm not sure about the type of racing they're doing. We ran into one of the organizers on Wed night at the meet and greet and he said they've never tried it before. I'm thinking it may be worth watching!

 

Ok this was worth seeing. They're still running the 8 cyl class with unlimited to come. I'll post pics and some video of the 4 cyl class later. (it got dark so no big class video).

Tomorrow for the price of admission you can drive YOUR jeep on the course and play etc. You don't want to pass this up.

There's some open section at the end of the sand drag strip and a section that used to be the old school obstacle course that they're filling up with rocks. This is where the rock crawl will be on Sat. Each of these races were 45 min endurance races with the unlimited class being an hour. The unlimited class also had to navigate a different section of the hill at the beginning of my clips and a nasty section of the rocks in the obstacle course area. On about the third lap one of the 4 unlimiteds rolled. They had him back in the race in under 10 mins.
