Howdy!

I woke up on black Friday to find my JK doors missing. Tuffy can shove those nuts up their collective asses. The doors were unbolted from the torx directly from the door. one of the rear windows were broken. The thieves also ripped out wires from the top of the windshield and tore off my rearview mirror. They stupidly left fingerprints on the rearview, which has been turned into Chicago PD.

Not putting money on it, but If anyone comes across an asshole in the area selling a set of 4 granite gray JK Doors, please PM me.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't know this was a thing that was still going on. Try contacting huffy and see if they will help cover the deductible at least since their product failed. Something tells me that they were not stolen to sell. It's prob a keeper who recognized the tuft locks and managed to get his hands on the security but that it takes to remove them. Good luck finding the door or the asshole who took them. Keep us posted

 

Sorry, man, that really sucks. It sounds like the hinge pin nuts prevented them from a quick getaway though. Too bad no one came across the scene while it was happening. Insurance should cover that. You might want to keep your eyes on craigslist in case they're stupid enough to try to sell them there. But my guess would be they specifically targeted your doors for the color. Otherwise, I think they would have moved on to an easier target after encountering the security nuts.

 

There's a special place in hell for thieves. Do you know why they ripped into the wires near the rear view mirror? And do you have a hard of soft top? I would hope no one would break the door windows or the hard top to get the doors.

 

Someone has posted doors on the Chicago craigslist board, do a search on jeep doors and you will see them. I don't know if they are yours, these look to be dark blue in color. Hope you get your doors back and find the d.bags that did this

Edit: just saw yours are granite, the ones I saw are likely not yours unless they repainted them

 

Tuffy isn't really at fault on this, they did prevent conventional door theft as they advertise. You can put wheel locks on your wheels but if someone takes your axle, then what??

There was a jeep in my area a few years back that had the doors, hard top, and I think hood all stolen off of it in one night...at a hotel...in a populated area...in the heart of the area. If they want it, they'll get it. I have no idea how they got it all home but they did.

 

I sincerely hope they find the scums and let you run over them.

 

Thanks guys, for the messages. Thought a CL ad had them posted, but they were an older model and that '2007 Steel Blue' (which was an awesome color, BTW)... Insurance is taking care of it. Jeep was parked in my driveway, close to my garage.

I contacted Tuffy, if anything to vent. They really need to make a cover for the torx that bolt into the door. Nothing is 100%, though.

I have no idea why the rear view was ripped out. The thieves did leave fingerprints on the rear view, and that has been submitted to Chicago PD.

Like I said, insurance is taking care of it, and will be rearranging things in my garage so I can park it INSIDE in the future.



Oh, I have a hardtop - they broke a rear door window & tore out wiring near the top at the visors, to maybe disarm the alarm, I'm not sure...

 

They probably tore out the mirror because of the lights being on while they carried out the theft.

Try "Search Tempest" instead of Craigslist. It searches CL and Ebay at the same time


Post up on every Jeep forum there is. Someone knows something..
