That was a great video TekWarren. Thanks for the good time. Perhaps my wife will come next time. I think we're heading to Silver Lake August 7,8 &9. Maybe you can make it?

Tek - I love the video - especially the no cacti harmed part. The pictures are awesome as well.

The ride was about 26 miles of trails, but the area to ride in is huge. I've been out almost every Friday this summer (4 -5 hrs. each morning) and have ridden some new trails every time. Actually you could almost ride from here to the tip of Michigan Lower peninsula on trails or forest roads.

Here's a link to a map showing the basic lay out of our ride.

WOW!- thanks for putting it into perspective-James and I were just talking tonight, that we were out for 5 hrs on the trail and it seemed like 1!-time absolutely flew while we were out there. other than the placement of the sun in the sky-there's very little to remind you of time and space. Just awesome

Here's a link to Goggle Maps that shows trails I've mapped in the West Michigan area. Will be working to break it down by area soon.

I've been thinking about our trail ride ever since we left and running into those folks camping out there really has me thinking. Pending finding out which areas are ok to camp in I think it would be awesome to spend a weekend out there a friday to sunday or just saturday to sunday. For me its so close but still such an awesome place to get away. If I can get to know the trails better I'd camp out there several weekends if I could. We are camping next week but with the camper and in a park...I would like to do some REAL camping out on the trails with tents...or just sleep in the back of the unlimited. It would be awesome to enjoy the outdoors with some people who would be interested.

Sounds like a plan! I know it has been said earlier, but do you need a Michigan OHV sticker for these trails? Anything else?

I think if I remember what sdault (our trail guide) was saying that the ORV sticker was NOT even required. Myself and I think a couple others had them however. I still don't know enough about the area and laws even though I'm right here in the middle of it but you can be sure I will find out.
