Sounds good! I bought the Garmin Oregon, and National Geographic topo maps to print.

On our last trip, we mainly had car gps units that weren't equipped for the trails. The GPS would tell us where we were but couldn't tell us where the trails were or what trail we were on. We had a physical map with trails, but couldn't utilize coordinates from the GPS with it. It was frustrating.

My plan is to have a trail oriented GPS and printed topo maps with grid coordinates. This way we can pin point locations. If trails aren't on the map, or GPS, then I can overlay tracks and waypoints onto the topo map for later trips. We'll see how well this works! :-)

Default Camp Kracken

Been playing around with the Nat Geo Topo maps tonight.

Using the Coordinates that Luis provided us, I located the possible location of the camp site from our second night. I dubbed it Camp Kracken

I figure with maps like these (this one being a close up view for demonstration purposes), trail GPS units, along with the Drummond ORV map, we shall stay on track the entire time

Those of you from last year's trip may recall the camp site, then look at this map, and think, weren't there more trails near our site? Yes, there were. The detail of this map, and the detail of the Drummond ORV map differ even from that of the Google Earth's Bird's eye view map. Simply put, these all lack detail but we can map this out on this Scouting trip. So far I've been able to use my Garmin Oregon to overlay routes onto these maps with great accuracy.

I can't see the map too well on my phone but "camp kracken" was off the main trail to marble head about 3 miles off shore.

Should name camp "HARRR Polly wanna rear end job"
