Default Is there a TeraFlex Dealer/Installer in Northern IL?

I searched the Great Lakes forum and couldn't find the exact info I was looking for.

I am considering going with a TeraFlex 2.5 Coil Lift and was looking to either do it myself or get a quote for having it installed by a professional.

I live in between Milwaukee and Chicago near the WI/IL border and the closest place I could find listed on the TeraFlex site was:

J&L 4WD Center 666 So. Thompson Rd. Wisconsin : Approx. 78.52 miles away. This is a little far to have to drive back and forth if I were to have any issues.

Does anyone know of a non-official dealer that installs these lifts or a place to pick up parts? McHenry Four Wheel drive is only a couple miles away but they deal in BDS systems.

Thanks in advance!

No worries, thanks for the reply!

After reading through some of the write-ups and looking over the TeraFlex instructions I think I will take a stab at this Saturday morning. I have all of the tools needed in the garage so I am going to hope for the best.

It is nice to know there are some places around though just in case something goes wrong

You won't have any problem with this. These basic kits are super easy to install. If you do run into anything you can P.M. me. my emails go directly to my phone so I will be able to respond quickly.

Hey. This is a great kit. I just installed it on my jeep last weekend with a help from a couple forum members and its pretty simple. Hope it works out for you.

Glad to hear it went well.

Did you run into anything unusual during the install that I should look out for?

Also, did you use loctite on all the bolts for the suspension? If so, did you use the blue (242)?

Thanks!

Ya we forgot to put the spacer in the upper rear trackbar bracket and ended up bending it! Took about four hours to bend it back and get the trackbar mounted again. The instructions say to loosen the control arms but we didn't need to. The front shock extensions are interesting. I reccomend glove and a ratcheting wrench. put the right front spring on before the left so you have more flex and everything else went smooth.

No locktite just a torque wrench, and I will recheck in 500 miles. The trackbars need to be torqued to 130 ft/lbs.

Ouch, sorry to hear about the trackbar bracket. I ordered the adjustable rear trackbar so I wouldn't have to drill the hole for the new drop bracket. I will see how it goes.

The Autozone by me rents out a spring compressor for free, I checked it out today on my way home. I think I will take advantage of it. From what it sounds like it could be handy with the front passenger side spring.

I appreciate the tips, thanks!

You won't need the compressor. When you're ready to put the front right spring on just turn the wheel all the to the driver's side. It will allow just enough room to squeeze the spring in there. That's easier than using the spring compressor in my opinion. But good to have just in case.
