I think we are going to be exploring Tahquamenon Falls State Park and do some kayaking on that river. We aren't going to head to Drummond so we can avoid the Jamboree.
We would definitely be intersted in going back up in the fall for a run on Drummond Island.

Keep your eyes peeled for a thread! We're planning another Drummond Island trip the last week of Sept or first week of Oct. Last year the fall colors were in full bloom and we all had a blast!
We would be interested in heading to Drummond Island with a group this late summer or fall time. Never made it up there yet but know lots of folks that have gone and had a blast. Lets get a group together and head up!
I'll even bring my pudding shots for the evening festivites!!

There's a host of trails between Paradise and Whitefish Point, look between Vermilion Road and Wildcat Road specifically. Somewhere back there, there's a random graveyard that dates back into the 1800's. It's out in the middle of nowhere down a trail in the woods, kind of spooky, and pretty cool to check out. There's good fishing from the shore at Andrus Lake too, if you're into that.
Have fun, and keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles!

Just make sure you have a map and know where you're going if you're by yourself, you don't want to get lost back there!

I'm used to going alone. Have all the recovery gear, 2 gps's, cb, ham radio, etc. Also, don't get too aggressive without help nearby.

Got back from the UP.
We did get out on some trails this weekend. We ended up following snowmobile and atv trails from Paradise all the way up to the lighthouse at Crisp Point. Nothing difficult, just had some fun getting out. Pretty much all sand and tight trails. Saw some wildlife.
The lighthouse is the most remote lighthouse in Michigan. We took the quick way back which is road 412 to road 500 South to M123 west of the upper falls. 22 miles of dirt road to get there.

Awesome! We found some deep sand on some of the trails, but for the most part, they're nice and scenic, and nothing too crazy (which is good when you're only wheeling by yourself). Post up some pics if you took any!
