White Sox
I'd say try for one of the field run lots but there are a ton of close lots that are fairly safe. regardless, top up and doors on is my only other suggestion. not the friendliest area outside the field limits. but not terrible. If it were Wrigley for a Cubs game you'd be fine no problem. And then I'd say holler when your done cuz I live done the street from there and would buy another jeeper a beer!
...EXIT THE DAN RYAN EXPWY to the RIGHT, or EAST...and once you come to the college, there'll be people there to park you...a bit cheaper and cars there are watched by CPD & security!!! ...the best place to park, if you can get in is to the west of the CELL, go underneath the viaduct and immediately to the right...on 35th Street.

I chuckle at this request.
I made the trip in my CJ7 with a group of friends when the new stadium first opened.
We were driving around the neighborhoods looking for parking when a group of young men came rushing toward us in a very "unfriendly" manner from a porch when I stopped at a stop sign. I blew it off as whitey paranoia until it happened again. That was the last stop sign at which I stopped until we were clear of the area where our skin color made us "very unwelcome."
We paid a premium to park near the field. I didn't think it was worth saving the money to get carjacked or worse.
Temperature dropped like a rock when the sun went down. We were freezing in the stands and you can barely imagine how enjoyable 94 was in the topless Jeep at speed, especially with the anemic HVAC systems of old. We stopped off at a relative in Hammond of one of my passengers to stay the night.

Headin home. We parked in a brick paver lot. Pretty nice. Went downtown for a few hours. Top and doors off. Wife's drivin now and gettin a little chilly. Got alot of looks and people askin what kind of jeep is that. Do you guys drive your jeeps in Chicago. ha.
Yea. My reaction was probably a bit over bored but I've put more money into my truck fixing shit as a result of being on the southside near the field and such then I have on mods on my last 2 trucks. Sucks but it's true. Hell two months ago I ended up leaving that area with 2 slashed tires so call me gun shy. Glad it was a good time none the less.
