Default Windrock / Coal Creek Trail Ride July 31- August 1

It's way off, but in order to get this worked out, so those that would like to check out one of the best wheeling spots on this side of the MS, it needs to be set early. Those who need to ask for a little time off can put in some requests in the coming months.

Windrock / Coal Creek OHV
Oak Ridge, TN
July 31 - August 1
Saturday-Sunday

$17 for a day per person or $33 for a two day per person

This place is a dream for off-roading. There are numerous trails, from easy to extreme. There is something for every Jeep. There will be more of these runs announced, I just wanted to solidify the first. It is a 450 mile drive from Fort Wayne, IN if that gives you some sense of the commitment. This place is worth the trip and you will not be let down.

Sounds good to me, but I can make about anything work with some notice. Is this the place you had you're slide?

Yes! You remember that, do you? The summer conditions are much different than the winter, though.

I'm very interested. However, I won't know for sure until June 19th if I can get the weekend off. I've been wanting to make a trip down there for a while.

Thumbs up I'm in for this one!

I will be requesting vacation time for this one! Will probably take the whole week, lots of stuff to do in that area.....I really enjoy the great state of Tennessee.

My father-in-law and brother-in-law go down to Blue ridge to hunt and a little wheeling. I think the cost for us would be fairly high for that place because you need a hunting license to roam the trails, or something like that.

Windrock campground has both primitive area camping and cabins.
The cabins are $100 per night, primitive area is $16 per night (for 2 people)
Kids under 15 free camping...
The cabins are located just across the road from the primitive area and they do not allow for primitive camping next to the cabins...
The cabins sleep 4 and have bathrooms and kitchenettes.

If we go, I would be up for splitting the cost of a cabin, due to my bad back I am better off in a bed than on the ground if possible, but I have an air mattress if I need it...

Lets see how many we can round up for this.. would be a blast......

You won't be disappointed with taking some vacation for this trip. Well worth it. Bring your camera for some of the lookouts!
