Default CA FFL question

Since long guns are not required to be registered, do I need a FFL to buy a used shotgun?

Just asked a buddy who is a FFL for you, as soon as he replies, I will let you know.

According to him if the gun was bought in Cali it is already registered, you can buy it out right. YOu do have to register it in your name but there is no 10 day cooling period for long guns. Hope this helps.

So my buddy here in Cali has an AR I'm buying. You're saying that we do not have to do a 10 day waiting/background check transfer on long guns? I can meet him at the gun shop/FFL and do the transfer and take it home? I've never heard this and know that's not the case with pistols

I've never heard of such a thing. waiting until next wed. to pick up my winchester 30-30. I have two AR rifles and waited on both.
