Just wow.

One manual of arms and one type of holster for carry/training. Muscle memory is a powerful thing. What's the old saying about "fear the man with one gun"? Sucks for the guy, but it could've been much, much worse.

I don't have to watch it to know which one it is lol. My only question, other than why does this guy think he's on top shot, is why is he within arms reach of the target? Should be showing us knife tactics. And it only grazed him so stop crying.

Holy crap. Ok I didn't see this one with the explanation and aftermath. It actually went through his leg! In that case, he took it pretty well.

Shooting from the retention position is a pretty common drill, and required for qualification with handguns for a lot of LEAs. Obviously if your target is that close then things have gone badly, but it's a real life situation that should be prepared for if you plan to carry, or are a LEO, etc.

Seems like pulling a gun out on someone that close would be the worst option. Should probably use a good old fist at that point.

He has been trained to call his parents before calling 911 in an emergency?

Surprised he could keep his quadracep straight after taking a 230 grain through it "vertically". . Personally I would not have posted it..not even as a public service announcement. Shit happens but I am glad he is ok.

No, not if you can avoid it. Getting into a tussle is the worst option, your gun could be wrestled away from you. You definitely don't want to wind up on the ground either. Drawing and taking a step back with your strong leg, while keeping the pistol low and close to you, then firing at an upward angle, is pretty standard procedure for bad breath distances. You (hopefully) at least keep the assailant at bay while creating a step more space between you. The goal is to push the proximity back while ensuring that your weapon stays in your possession.

I laughed at that a little, too.
