Yeah, there's a local club with rental pistols that i intend on visiting once I have the permit. They won't let you touch the guns without one (not that I blame them!).

Unfortunately, no one at work has handguns. In fact, other than a shotgun, the only other gun person I know is my supervisor. He was a Navy sniper.


I always treat guns as if they were loaded. My father taught me the correct way to handle firearms before he let me get my .22 when I was 16 (still have it, but it needs some SERIOUS TLC).

It is the IOM (Individual Officer Model) which they do not sell to civilians anymore... not sure why. The USG is the same gun, single action, etc, but has some cosmetic changes. I actually like the USG better, but retaining the IOM because it is more rare and the value increases because of that.
