I'm about to purchase a Jeepster Commando and was working on looking at lift kits. I haven't really found any and was wondering what the best way to go about lifting one of these? I don't want to do a spring over axel and would like to do some sort of suspension system. Anyone on here know of anything?? I'll take all the help I can get! I also noticed that a lot of the parts are difficult to find. I'd like to put an offroad tire carrier and a decent bumper on the front to put two lights and a winch on it. I might look into putting a TJ front bumper on it and some TJ flares. I have seen a lot that re-use TJ parts. If anyone knows anything about that either that would be great! Thanks again,

I am pretty sure that the suspension on the Jeepster was the same as the FSJ series. Check out www . wagoneers . com. John Meister has a LOT of information on there regarding specs, swaps, etc. I have been on their mailing list off and on for about 10 years now with all my Wagoneer projects.

Hells creek suspension makes a lift for the commando, they are pretty reasonable on the price and really nice people.

Thanks for the help! I have done a lot of research here recently and I think Hells Creek is the best way to go. I think I'll order the lift kit soon even though I won't have the rims and tires for a little bit but that will be ok seeing as how it takes hells creek 6 weeks to make the lift kit. I'll post some pics up of the build here soon.

Here are the pictures. When I bought it the frame, axels, engine, and transmission were pretty much done. It's the paint, body, interior, and a little bit of metal work that needed to be worked on. The picture with the boxes is all the parts I have for it. The hood and fenders are already primed and last time I went out there they were working on the grill. It has a 2000 model TJ roll bar in it. In the last pictures that you see is what I'm hoping it will look like by the time I'm done with those pro comp rims. I just want to put some 33's on it because I'm 6 4 and I don't like how low it sits for me to get in and out of. I want it to be a good vehicle to drive around and to take off road occasionally. This is more of a "Beach Jeep" I guess you could say. I've already bought a soft top for it as well.

Is that the factory metal top in the last pics? Does the TJ roll bar mate up to the windshield? That looks like a sweet ride.

That is the factory metal top in the last picture. The roll bar does meet the windsheild but I'm thinking about going a different direction with the roll bar. It's not my favorite but we'll see what happens. I think the restoration will be fully done around Feburary.

Here is the update on the Jeepster. We got it primed, spray lined, painted, rims, bumpers, and a lot of other things done to it. It's almost done! (For now at least).
